Today's book is, "Language and Perception," signed by one of two authors, George A. Miller. The book was published in 1976.
Today's book is, "Professional Secrets: An Autobiography of Jean Cocteau, Drawn from His Lifetime Writings," from 1970. It's signed by the translator, Richard Howard. It was published the same year he won the Pulitzer Prize for his poetry. The author is Robert Phelps, who died in 1989:

In honor of Emanuel Swedenborg's birthday today, I choose "Svensk Dikt," or "Swedish Poetry." There is one poem in the book signed by the author, Goran Sonnevi. There is a handwritten note inside the book about a poetry reading at Boston University, written by the late manager of the Swedenborg Bookstore, Rafael Guiu at that time (2002.) That is most likely where the book was signed.
The poem the author signed is, "Vad formar karlekens strukturer" dedicated to Noam Chomsky, page 612. Today's book is again, "Harvest of Youth" by Edward Davison. This copy is a fourth printing, again 1926 copyright, and signed by the author in 1937 at Boulder, Colorado. See January 26 for the description of the other copy in my collection, which is signed by his son, Peter born in 1928.
Mr. Davison directed the Eighth Writers' Conference in the Rocky Mountains, at Boulder in the summer of 1937. Today's book is, "Descartes' Baby: How Child Development Explains What Makes Us Human," by Paul Bloom from Yale University. Dr. Bloom signed the book to the collector's daughter, insisting on sending a free copy so that the collector didn't need to travel so far to have it signed. Thanks, Dr. Bloom!
Today's book is, "Harvest of Youth," poems by Edward Davison. It's a fourth printing of the book, copyright 1926. What is neat about this one is that it is signed by the author's son, Peter Davison as a gift to Peggy on March 4, 1970. He was the poetry editor at the Atlantic Monthly magazine. He died in 2004.
An obituary here: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2005/04/peter-davison-1928-2004/303825/ See January 28 for the second copy of the book, signed by the author. Another book by George A. Miller: "The Science of Words," signed December 4, 2004 at Princeton University.
Today's book is the second printing hardcover from 1965 of Noam Chomsky's book, "Aspects of the Theory of Syntax." It was signed October, 2000 at MIT.
Today's book is, "The Oxford Book of Sonnets," edited by John Fuller. The collector had one sonnet signed by the author, Anthony Thwaite at the Bath Literary Festival in 2004.
You can learn more about the festival here: bathfestivals.org.uk/literature/ Today's book isn't signed on the title page, but it has a signed sticker bookplate from David Rockefeller to the collector. The book is, "Memoirs" by David Rockefeller.
